Doin' R.I.T.E. to Benefit IFSI through the Fire Department Coffee & Shirt Clubs

We have a special feature for the Fire Dept. Coffee Club and Fire Dept. Shirt Club in August.

The Illinois Fire Service Institute (IFSI) recently teamed up with Fire Department Coffee (FDC) to discuss the importance of firefighter training and safety, and shared stories about real-life situations where training came into action. This film was also made possible in part by IDEX, who donated $5000 directly to IFSI.

IFSI, a trusted organization affiliated with the University of Illinois, plays a crucial role in training over 60,000 first responders each year. Their 28-acre live fire training facility in Illinois — sometimes called Disneyland for firefighters — is where they come to receive top-notch training that prepares them to face the toughest situations with confidence and skill.

But IFSI's dedication doesn't stop there. 

They also go the extra mile by traveling across the country to conduct training events, ensuring that first responders everywhere have access to the tools, equipment, training and information they need. It's all part of their commitment to Research, Information, Training, and Education (R.I.T.E) — a philosophy that aligns perfectly with our values at Fire Dept. Coffee.

Not only does IFSI focus on physical preparedness, but they also understand the importance of mental resilience among firefighters. Many of their training sessions include valuable insights into resiliency awareness and the resources available to address and support the mental and physical health challenges that first responders face.

$10K Raised for IFSI in August through the Fire Department Clubs

Throughout August, the Fire Department Coffee Club and Fire Department Shirt Club raised a total of $10K to give back to support IFSI. We're grateful to everyone that showed their support to help this cause and mission of giving back to help sick or injured first responders and firefighters.
