You know about Jason Patton. And Firefighter Fenton. And of course, there are the occasional cameos from Ginger Billy.
But there’s another person behind the hilarity and creativity of Fire Dept. Coffee, and it’s about time you met him.
In fact, if you look closely, you might notice that he’s also made a few appearances in our videos, too. If you’ve seen this one, you may recognize him as “The Chief.”
Brad Flaherty is not a firefighter, but he is Fire Dept. Coffee’s Chief Marketing Officer and Creative Director. He’s been part of the team for years, helping shape the way that our brand and our coffee are presented to the world.
“Being part of the Fire Department Coffee family has been an amazing experience. What’s better than drinking coffee all day and making really cool stuff?”
He’s a graphic designer by trade, and that’s exactly how he got hooked up with Fire Dept. Coffee. Our president and founder, Luke Schneider, came across Brad’s graphic design and hand lettering work way back in 2016 while scrolling through Instagram.
Brad is @graphicdesign79 on Instagram if you want to check out his work and see exactly what caught Luke’s eye.
“Brad and I have been working together since the beginning. I hired him as a freelance graphic designer to create our logo. Little did we know at the time that he’d be a much bigger part of this company.” — Luke Schneider
Throughout his career, Brad has done a ton of great things. He designed for Wilson Sporting Goods, designed logos for big hotel chains and he even created a championship belt for the UFC.
Shortly after getting to know Luke, Brad came to work for Fire Dept. Coffee as a freelancer just as we were beginning to launch the business. He’s been with us ever since, and now he’s a full-time director of the team.
Brad’s specialty is branding and logo design. You’ve seen our logo? That’s all Brad. And he does a little bit of everything. From the dynamic designs of our coffee bags to our social media, emails and … well, pretty much everything that has anything to do with the look of Fire Dept. Coffee, Brad’s creative genius is all over it.
“Graphic design is my passion. I am very fortunate to have found my purpose in life. Being creative is so much fun and so rewarding. I wouldn’t want to be doing anything else.”
We’ve got even more exciting plans for 2022, and Brad’s creative fingerprints are all over them. Stay tuned because we’re going to have some fun — and it’s going to look amazing.
