For Giving Tuesday 2022, we held a BOGO sale on our full line of coffee pods.
But it wasn’t your typical BOGO sale.
This was a “Buy One, Give One” opportunity. For every package of coffee pods sold, we donated a 12 count package of coffee pods to U.S. military members.
We knew you’d come through — and did you ever.
Thanks to our customers, we donated 229 boxes of single-serve coffee pods to the USO Center at Naval Station Great Lakes. That's a total of 2,748 coffee pods!
The coffee pods will be distributed to other USO centers to spread great-tasting coffee to military service members and their families. That’s a huge gift and one we’re proud to deliver on behalf of our amazing customers.
USO Centers at Great Lakes and at military installations around the world offer service members and their families a place to kick back and relax, grab a bite to eat or something to drink. They’re also staffed by an amazing crew of people, usually volunteers, who make sure that the service members have everything they need.
The USO operates in more than 250 locations around the world with dedicated employees and an army of volunteers who make it all possible.
More than 40,000 recruits go through boot camp at Great Lakes every year. In fact, it’s where Fire Dept. Coffee founder and CEO Luke Schneider graduated from boot camp in 2004.
Luke’s love of coffee fully developed during his time in the Navy. He knows how excited sailors can get for a good cup of coffee. Fire Dept. Coffee offers six different roasts in coffee pods, including the Navy-inspired Shellback Espresso. So the men and women at the USO Center in Great Lakes should have no problem finding a favorite.
“I remember my time at Great Lakes, and I remember how well we were always treated at the USO Center,” Luke said. “It means a lot to me that we can make Fire Dept. Coffee available to these young sailors. The best part is that our customers made it all possible.”
Through Fire Department Coffee's dedicated customer base, we're able to continue to support organizations, such as the USO, that serve the military and our communities.
In addition to efforts such as the "BOGO" coffee pods donation, the Fire Department Coffee Charitable Foundation gives back to sick and injured first responders. The Fire Dept. Coffee Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization supporting groups that help firefighters and first responders who are injured on the job, mentally or physically, or who are facing other serious health challenges.
We can't thank you enough for supporting the Fire Department Coffee give back mission!
