We take pride in the fact that Fire Dept. Coffee is founded and run by firefighters.
Yet many of our team members are not in the fire service. Not directly anyway. That’s great, too, and it has allowed us to grow stronger by building relationships with talented people like Dakotah Quimby, who has been our general manager since early 2021.
“Supporting veterans and first responders is something I hold close to my heart,” Dakotah said. “They deserve everyone's support. I'm proud to serve a great cup of coffee to people that deserve it the most.”
As general manager, Dakotah works directly with our Logistics, Customer Service and Coffee teams. One of the biggest parts of his job is helping run the daily operations for the company and making sure our facilities are operating at maximum efficiency.
So when your order arrives in your mailbox on time — or even early — you can trace that service back up the chain to Dakotah. When your order is perfectly packed, maybe with a sticker thrown in as a special thank you, you can trace that back to Dakotah.
It’s not just him, of course. We are a family and a team in every sense of the word. It’s Dakotah’s job to ensure our team is always delivering the goods.
“The best part of the job is being a part of the Fire Department Coffee family,” he said. “It's smelling freshly roasted coffee every single day. It's a second family, and everyone takes pride in what they do. I am blessed to be a part of this.”
We can always tell that someone will be a good fit for the Fire Dept. Coffee team if it’s obvious that they care deeply about their family, above all.
That was quickly apparent with Dakotah. He and his wife now have two children. When he’s not working, Dakotah is spending time with his family.
Now he’s begun bringing his kids into one of his favorite pastimes. He learned custom woodworking from his brothers, and he’s not afraid to tackle a variety of woodworking projects. He especially loves involving his kids into the projects, and together they’ve made everything from a birdhouse to a custom kitchen countertop.
It’s not a coincidence that the same sense of craftsmanship blended with creativity makes Dakotah great at woodworking and at his job with Fire Dept. Coffee. He has been an amazing addition to our team, and we know that with Dakotah on our side, our operations will always be running smoothly.

Hello Dakotah:
It’s wonderful to learn that I am not the only one would has a passion for Firefighters and who is not a member of the Fire Service! These brothers and sisters put it all on the line and give it all to serve their communities. I have friends and extended family in the Fire Service and am continually taken aback at what they do!! I volunteer with the Mamingwey Burn Society (locally) and am looking at co-facilitating the OSI-CAN Family and Friends of first responders for mental health assistance. It’s so great to give back! Continue to do a great job!! ❤️🚒❤️
