Introducing Mexican Huatusco, the exclusive coffee for July 2022, to Coffee of the Month Club members.
Coffee is rarely grown in the continental United States, but we’ve got the next closest thing. Our new roast is made from exceptional beans grown in Huatusco, Mexico. Located southeast of Mexico City, this region is home to a series of small, specialty farms — ranging from 1 to 18 hectares — and dedicated farmers who grow this impressive coffee.
Bean varietals include Colombia, Costa Rica and Sarchimor. When you brew your first cup, you’ll be met by a pleasant aroma and you’ll enjoy tasting notes that include a delicious combination of brown sugar, vanilla and dark chocolate.
It’s the perfect level of sweetness for a pleasing summertime roast, light enough for hot days and yet rich and fulfilling. You’ll be going back for a second cup before you know it.
It’s a treat to enjoy the dedicated craftsmanship of these farmers, who raise the beans at elevations that range from 1,100 meters to 1,400 meters. Beans are harvested in colder months. The farmers deliver their cherries to the wet mill where they are de-pulped and fermented, then washed and mechanically dried for up to 36 hours to ensure the best quality coffee beans.
The fruits of their labor are exported in late Spring, ready for you to enjoy. Whether you’re pouring your first cup of the day in the early morning hours or a final mug as you wind down at the end of the day, this amazing roast is one to be savored. We know that you’ll enjoy it all month long.
Our coffee is roasted fresh and delivered fast. Fire Department Coffee gives back to our fellow firefighters and first responders who have been injured on the job, mentally or physically, or who are facing other serious health challenges.
