Tanzania is a country renowned for producing some of the best coffee in the world. One of the coffee estates in Tanzania that stands out is the Africa Plantation Kilimanjaro (APK), located in the shadows of Mount Kilimanjaro. The APK is a collection of four farms named, Two Bridges, Lyamungo, Mlama, and Kahawa. Each farm is managed individually, and the estate is owned by Alejandro Galante, a coffee farmer from Antioquia, Colombia.
The beans are so sought after because they deliver a lively cup of coffee with a round body and a distinguished aroma. You’ll find a moderate acidity, with tasting notes of caramel, lemon, and milk chocolate, in every cup. It’s made from varietals, including Bourbon and Kents.
The beans are fully washed and then dried on raised beds, where employees carefully monitor the moisture level of each lot to ensure even drying. This attention to detail is crucial to producing high-quality coffee. The tasting notes are the result of the growing conditions, processing methods, and the terrain of the region. This coffee from APK is a must-try for every coffee lover.
